School of Information, University of Tennessee and Grad.School of Information Sciences, UPR collaborative initiatives continue...

This summer the Graduate School of Information Sciences and Technologies, University of Puerto http://egcti.upr.edu
and the School of Information Sciences, University of Tennessee http://www.sis.utk.edu/ implemented one of the collaborative initiatives outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions, now in its third year.

The first student “exchange” was made possible via SIS’s distance education program enabling five students from the GSIST to take summer school courses from SIS. (The GSIST does not have summer sessions).

Balbina Rojas was a student in IS 572 Resources for Young Adults; Zoraida López, Marielis Garcia, and Eddie Lleras were students in IS 590 - Problems in Information Sciences, Topic: Global Library & Information Systems: A Comparative Study; and Jay Omar Soto was a student in IS 590 - Problems in Information Sciences, Topic: Health Sciences Librarianship.

The experience has been most successful!
